UAE ECONOMIC SUBSTANCE EMERGENCY WORKSHOP — LESS THAN 3 MONTHS UNTIL FIRST FILING: WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR MY BUSINESS?

The vast majority of UAE establishments are required to file with the government by 31st March 2020 to ensure compliance with UAE economic substance regulations (“ESR”).

With less than 10 weeks until the first notification deadline, the clock is ticking for businesses – whether or not the falling within or out of the ESR scope – to clarify their classification and prepare data ahead of filing.

The workshop will look at ESR's practical impact on businesses registered and operating in the UAE, and help them understand their obligations and how to meet them.

Learning objectives
  • By the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to: Understand ESR's scope, key features and requirements
  • Through a series of live examples, be able to identify whether a business falls within or out of the scope of ESR
  • What steps should a business registered and operating in the UAE – whether considered in-scope or out-of-scope – undertake to ensure compliance with the new law
